State Rep Mary Lou Marzian strongly endorses Lisa

Dear Friends:

I could not be more proud that Lisa Willner stepped up to run for State Representative.

Many of you may know Lisa, she serves on the Jefferson County School Board where she is an outstanding advocate for children, teachers, and public education.

When Jim Wayne announced his retirement, I was truly sad. Jim is a close friend and is one of the legislators in my carpool. Through the years we accomplished a lot together.

I knew finding someone to fill his shoes would be difficult. I’m overjoyed that we found just the right person in Lisa Willner.

There are many reasons I’m supporting Lisa: She’s extremely intelligent, graduated from Yale University and received her PhD in Psychology in California. She came back home and has raised her family in the 35th District. As a psychologist she brings important skills, and will be a strong advocate for mental health issues in the General Assembly.

On the JCPS School Board Lisa is known for getting things done. She works to bring people together to find commonsense solutions that put children first.

I’m also impressed with her platform. Lisa will be a fierce advocate for public education – needed now more than ever. She will work to expand good job opportunities to working people, and will fight to protect all people. Lisa will stand up for women’s rights, human rights, labor rights, and environmental rights.

Lisa has earned endorsements from JCTA, AFSCME, C-FAIR (Fairness Campaign), the FOP Deputy Sheriff’s Lodge, the Louisville Metropolitan Women’s Political Caucus, as well as many personal endorsements from 35th district leaders.

Lisa is persistent and will be a strong voice for Democratic values in the new Republican majority.

I’m standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Lisa Willner because she’s smart, she’s tough, and when elected she will help us make a difference in the State Capital.

Always,

Mary Lou Marzian
State Representative
